Whats you're Average?

Okay everyone. I know that gas prices are getting EVERYONE. I'm just curious as to who is getting it the worst. I've been racking my brain cause gas was 3.17 last time I filled up the car (2 1/2 weeks ago) Now it's shot WAY up. It seams every time we fill up the price has gone up AGAIN. They're saying it should be "peaking" around memorial day. To that I say...whatever. This is why for my birthday we're getting a bike trailer. It holds two kids, and I'm going to use that to do my little trips to Target. When I actually need a LOAD of grocery's, I'll bust out the old car again...but we're seriously contemplating riding our bikes to a lot more of the things that are closer to home. Like dinner at peoples houses, church activities, and what have you. So this is my solution. The weather is finally warming up. Lets bust out those bikes people!

By the way...gas up here is on average 3.47 a gal. YUCK! In KCK it's already 3.51 a gal. I'm not planning on taking any LONG trips ANYTIME soon. But I know there are some of you who are. So lets see. Everyone. Post your "Lovely" average.

Baby Chicks

We bought some baby chicks the first of the week. They are already starting to loose their baby "fuzz" and develope wings. They are so cute!

Giggles

So I thought this was super funny. Both of my babies did this, but we just got a video of it today. Whenever I run baby's hands down my face, she giggles un-controllably. It's almost as if she's trying NOT to giggle, but something inside of her just can't stop. Cute stuff.

My Day

Well today has been one of those days where you grin and bear it. (see Compton blog for ONE of the disasters that happened today) But at least one cute thing did happen. And that was the boys playing together. They really are cute kids, even if they do drive me up the wall.

Parting Is Such Sweet Sorrow

Well, I just took my last final of the semester. The next time I sit down in a college class, it will be in China! I am definitely excited about that! All of my finals went pretty well. Every single one of them was scheduled, which was kind of annoying because it would have been nice to take care of them all earlier. But it worked out ok. I had one test every day of finals. And my last one was my Social Dance final. What a great way to end the semester! After everyone was done testing, Margaret and I requested that our teacher play a Viennese Waltz for us. It was so much fun! Viennese Waltz is definitely one of our favorite dances. After we finished dancing, we got ourselves some hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll. We just sat and talked for about an hour. Her aunt is coming to pick her up, right as I'm typing actually. So I walked her back to her apartment for the last time and said good bye for the last time. I won't see her again until next Winter semester starts in January. That's an odd feeling, I'll tell you what. At least every end is just the beginning of another stage in life. As sad as it is to say good bye, and as hard as it is, I am still really excited to see everyone. But at least we have memories of those fun times that are past! What would we do without those cherished memories?

Sunday afternoon

These pictures are just old pictures regenerated, new generation or something...
Taylor was the first to take the plung...
Jarvis wasn't as graceful....but he got the job done quickly.

Change in the Wedding Date

Hey everyone just thought I would let you know that we had to change the date of our wedding. The St. Louis Temple is being cleaned during the time that we were planning on getting married. Taylor wanted to change the date up to June but I told him that was a little too soon. So it is now the 6th of August, the reception is going to be the Saturday following, the 9th. He is the greatest guy ever I love him so much! (He made me say that!) But I really do love him!

Family Reunion 2009

Dear Family,
This is just a reminder that the family reunion is one year away (pretty much)
please circle this date on your 2009 calendars July 3rd and 4th 2009. (we decided on this date as most of us will have the 4th of July off, even if you don't generally have Saturday off.)
Plan on Friday afternoon activities, and all day Saturday. With lunch after church on Sunday for those that do not have to leave earlier to be home for work on Monday.

We will be accepting any ideas you wish to contribute and are still accepting donations to the family reunion fund. Remember we had decided on $5.00 per month per family. Many of you have paid for 2 years, some for one. This is just a reminder that a new year is upon us. You can send checks to me, Terri Goldhardt, 2830 So Adams St. SLC UT 84115, or you can give them to your parents (and they can get them to me.)

Our next meeting will be in June, so contact us shortly with ideas.

Love you
Aunt Terri

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary yesterday (April 21) to Janet and Keith. They spent the day together on the computer:) and to Ann and Mike today (April 22) Today is the big 25 for Ann and Mike.

We had a fun family dinner and devotional on Sunday. Several of the great grands thought the fish pond looked inviting and went for a dip.

We had a sweet devotional as Marshall, and his family shared some of their feelings about Marshall's temple experience. By the way, don't ever go to the temple with an expired temple recommend, (just ask Garry and Melissa)
We missed those of you who couldn't make it.

The Apostle Song

I thought it was rather cute. Not sure where it came from, I got it in an email.

Prepared? Think again...

Since we are moving in 2 1/2 weeks I though it would be a good Idea to get as much packing done as we could now instead of waiting till the last day or two to do everything. I have gone throuhg our things trying to figure out what we wont need for the next few weeks. I'm done with City of Joseph so I wont need to sew anythign else, so I packed my sewing stuff, and I packed my hymnal and primary song book, and it's the end of April it has been warming up, the car has gotten hot a couple times, so we wont need our coats till next winter, packed thoes up. Along with a few other things. Well last sunday I was asked to sing in church for today, and I dotn do solo's for the sake of everyones ears, but my voice does blend very well so I said if I coudl find someone to sing with me I would be happy to sing.
I have found the secrete to singing a beatiful song in sacrament. Find someone who sings better than you to sing with. :) And I did. I called Another Sarah in the ward and asked my cousin to play for us. Well Sarah has a beatiful voice. We went to her mothen in laws to practice to see if we sounded good together and we decided on a 3 part harmony song, her mother in law being the third part. Well then we got my cousin to come practice with us and some how the rolls got switched, my cousin was now singing. (she has a beatiful voice) We sang Abide with me in 3 part harmony and it was awesome. But then we decided to sing the 3rd verse in spanish, well I dont know spanish, I kind of know how to pronounce it. So Sarah taught us how to pronounce it, but I needed to have it writen in with the music, so I went home and had to un pack the box with my hymnal in it so I could writ in it. But it sounded great. Infact I had people asking me if I spoke spanish or if I served a mission speaking spanish. That's a good sign right?
Lydia's favorite monkey has poped a few seems, he is very loved, but he needed stiches, so I had hid him in my room till I fixed him. When I went to get my needles I realized I had already packed them, so I had to unpack another box to fix Lydia's bu-key (monkey).
Then we woke up this morning to go to church and guess what happened...snow. Snow on April 20. I know I'm in Idaho and I should expect it, it was too cold and too windy to get by with just a jacket, we had to unpack ANOTHER box to get our coats out.
So much for being prepared. :)

Day at the Temple!

Well we had a wonderful day on Saturday. Well...most of us. It was a good day but for those of you who didn't hear, it was a bit of a stressful morning. I'll let mom tell you the details, but they didn't think they were going to get to go through the temple with marshall. But things turned out good and they eneded up being able to go in anyway. I think it just made the appreciate being in the temple even more that day. Marshall and our willis cousin Jacob both recieved their endowments and it was just wonderful being in the temple with those two elders. Congrats Elder Adams & Elder Willis. We're all proud of you!

Digital Scrapbooking!

So I was introduced to this new thing called digital scrapbooking. It is amazing! You don't have to glue or cut, everything is done on the computer! It is so much easier and a fraction of the cost! I just thought I would share it with others. If you go to our blog you can check out some of the pages I have done. Warning, I am not the craftiest person in this family, just in case you look at my pages, don't expect much. Anyway, if you want more info let me know.

New Project

So this is my latest finished project. I made it for my friend Manami who got married in Feb. And it's taken me a LOT longer than I expected to finish it. I spend about 10 to 12 hours total on that mirror. 6 of thoes were actual etching, the rest was drawing and tracing and re drawing and centering. But as anything you can't see the detail very well in the picture. I wanted to make it a little more personal for her and so since Manami is Japanese, I put the Japanese Charecters for Eternity (on the left) and Love (on the right). I worked really hard on it to get everything centered and symetrical and unless I point out to you it's flaws you most likely wont even notice them. I'm very pleased with how it turned out. And I wont do another one unless a very close friend is getting married, or if I get paid. :) It was fun though, just takes a while.

I have a few more pictures of it on my blog.

I'm Engaged

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that I am now OFFICIALLY engaged! We are getting married on August 1st in the St. Louis Temple, you should come.

My fiance's name is Taylor Bolton, in case you don't know. My ring has the wedding band on it right now, so you can see what it will look like all together.

Uhaul

So a few months ago when we decided to move back I started looking up quotes from different moving companies, and Uhaul was the cheapest, by far. So I went back on the site today to look at the dementions on the truck and guess what, the price jumped almost $400 for the truck we were getting, it almost doubled! So I called to see why, and they said it's casue of supply and demand. They have less trucks then they did 2 months ago so it's more expensive. BUT, (this is a good but) he asked me if I printed up the quote, nope I said we dont have a printer, well actually we do but it's out of ink adn not set up to work on our lap top. Anyway he said if I came in they would still honor the quoted price. Wahoo! So I went in today to reserve teh truck and vehicle transport trailor. Then he told me the transport was going to be $500! almost twice as much too and I was like, um, no I can't pay that much. (again another but) But then he looked at it again adn that is the price of the trailor WITH OUT the truck, but since we were gettign the truck is was considerably less. whew! The trailor was $20 more than teh quoted price a few months ago, but I can handle a jump of $20, just not $400.
So to sum up, we reserved our Uhaul today.

Little G's first movie

Tonight we went to the 9:30 showing of Horton Hears a Who. We chose the late showing because that way if our kids were noisy it wouldn't bug very many other people. And our kids are all awake until midnight anyway, so why not?

It was fun! Baby G~ was duly impressed with the huge screen with the "Elatunt" show on it. Baby R~ slept for the first half and watched avidly during the second half. (Which I was NOT expecting!) It turned out to be a really fun family outing, and I am so glad! When we try to go eat all together at a restaurant it's a whole different story...

april showers...ha I think not!

If April showers bring May flowers, what do April snows bring? Yeah thats right...It's snowing. Not only is it snowing...it's MAJOR windy. Poor Nancyann & Glinda...I think she's in Choir. Anyhow I live about 10 min from worlds of fun...and I doubt they're having ANY fun at all. They went to worlds of fun for choir today...and boy was it the wrong day to do it. The snow isn't just falling, it's falling sideways cause the wind is so harsh. I hope the choir brought parkas!

City of Joseph

We only have one more preformance. When we started it seemed like such a long way a way and now it's almost over, but that is how every show is. IT's been so fun. They have set up 525 chairs in the gym, and last week were were filling about 450-475 each night, Last night we were full, and tonight, they added chairs. We had 700 people there tonight. That was crazy. I didn't know that many people could fit in there. I have heard nothing but positive remarks from the audience. IT's been great.

They hirred a professional to come a video the preformance and they are going to sell us DVD's at cost, and there is going to be a CD available of pictures for free. So I'll have a copy of the show if you are intreasted of watching a video of a play, which is never as fun as the real thing.

I've made lots of friends in the show, and seen a few old ones (too bad I'll probably never see them again) :) And I have gained a banjo student, I know it's isn't long for lessons but we are going to continue them over Skype after I move. She is so excited. So am I.

Now that the show is almost over I can't bellieve how much little time I really have left here, it's crazy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARSHALL!!!

Good Luck Sarah

Good luck for City of Joseph this week-end Sarah, I wish I could come out and see it. I know it will be a great experience and a great production.
I had a fun day today when Jamie and Ann and little Matt came out to see me then Marie and Taylor and David came. David thought it was warm enough to play in the stream in the front yard (but it really wasn't) Matt didn't care to join him this year.
For those of you who remember Amy Nothum, she and her husband just adopted a baby boy. Amy is married to Todd's brother (and Josh's cousin) so there will be a new set of 3 little boys to think of all kinds of things to keep their mom's busy.

Hot Pot

This past weekend, Garry and Sheri came up for Garry's mission reunion. I figured it would be a lot of fun to go on a double date with them, so we got it all planned out. There is this Chinese place that I had been wanting to take Margaret to and figured that we might as well go with Garry and Sheri while they were up here. For those of you who don't know what "hot pot" is, it's a traditional Chinese food. You have a pot with broth in it on a burner on your table. Then you go and get what ever meat you want (they had beef, chicken, pork, crab, and shrimp) or what ever vegetables you want and cook them in your boiling broth. It's one of my favorite Chinese foods. Everyone liked it (either that or they were all pretty good at lying to me). Baby Garry was even eating some of the stuff. He wasn't too fond of the crab meat though, I think that it kind of freaked him out, hehehe. It was a really fun evening. While they were at the mission reunion, Margaret and I started watching Enchanted (fun movie, by the way). Then when they were done, they came back to my place and we just played with Garry and Rachel till they left. It was so much fun! I really miss having my nieces and nephews around, but holy cow do they have a lot of energy!

I only have 5 days of classes left before finals and then I'll be back home. So it has been really busy. I went and talked to one of BYU's travel agents this morning, and it looks like my flights to China are going to be just under $2,000! Ouch! But it is really exciting to be getting ready for this fall. I can't wait! I'll be sure to post lots of pictures and make you all jealous :). Oh, and I don't know how many of you already know, but I'm going to be an EFY counselor for the Lawrence, Kansas session while Nancyann and Joseph are there this summer too! I just have a really fun summer and fall ahead of me! Well, not a whole lot, but that's what's going on with me! Just figured it had been a while since I posted anything on here and it was time for an update!

Remember Kateland

Mike and Alissa's baby, Kateland is in the Primary hospital and very ill. Everyone remember her (and her parents) in your prayers.

30 Day's Notice

Well I just called my Land Lord and gave him our 30 days notice, we will be out of our apartment on May 6. Crazy crazy crazy. The time has just gone by so fast. We have a white board by our door that has a calander on it and a space for notes. We put everything on this board. But we put the new calendar dates on there and guess what, they day we move is now on our calendar, in just 4 more weeks.
And ths picture is from this morning. Welcome to SPRING.

Happy Birthday Mikey!

We had a combined birthday party for Mikey and his best friend Jacob. Instead of a cake, we made rice crispys and I turned it into a dinosaur island with Dinosaurs in the shape of the number 2 on it. It looked pretty cute. We sang to both the boys and then we tried to get them to blow the candles out. Mikey actually did it, but Jacob didn't really want to. Then they spent the rest of the time running around the house. It's good to have such good friends.

New Job

If anybody knows of an opening, we're looking for a new job. The job that I'm at is great, but the location isn't ideal. We want to go someplace with a bigger school in hopes of finding a better Computer Science department. The department at SUU isn't exactly terriffic. I'm looking for a computer tech support position. If any of you work for someone who has a tech support position available, or know of an opening in your area, let us know. I think it would be great to be back out where family is again too, so keep your eyes and ears open for us.

New House

Here are some pictures of our new house. We got the kitchen painted this week, but I still have to put all of the finishing touches up on the walls. We are planning on painting the master bedroom this week so we can get our bedroom furniture ordered (I'll post pictures of that latter). It is in a really nice neighborhood about 30 minutes from both my parents and Todd's. We love it, and I am having a blast picking out paint colors for every room. It will be nice when I can figure out a place for everything though :)

Church News

We have 3 more preformances with teh City of Joseph, this Thursday Friday and Saturday. It's going really well. We have a dress rehearsal on Wednesday too and they are going to take a cast picture for the Church News. How cool is that?! So if you get the church news save a copy for me. :)

The Harts

so...I didn't like how we had 666 posts so I decided I would give you all an update on our little family. We moved into our new house 3 weeks ago and we love it. Right now we are working on getting everything painted and decorated. We went to Hilton Head SC for spring break and had a blast. These pictures are of us standing on a bridge at the resort, and sitting in front of a beautiful bush in Savannah. Wes also went swimming for the first time and he loved it!
I can't figure out how to move these pictures around!

Potty on the Potty!

Since Lydia learned how to take her clothes off she has also figured out that the diaper comes next. So when I saw her pulling on it I decided to get her familiar with the potty. So almost every day this week we have put her on the potty. Well today we put her on the potty right after her nap and she actually went pee! Wahoo! I'm not trying to potty train her yet, we will wait till after we move to really focus on it. I just want her to be familiar with it.

This is a pretty funny picture too

School board elections

For those of us in the Willard School district there is an election on April 8 to vote for school board. I would appreciate any information any of you might have about those who are running. School board is ONE place where our vote counts and the local school board is probably more important to us than the national elections. If you don't have any information do any of you know where I can go to find information?

Why Choose

I think there is nothing that can explain more my lack of interest in this round of potential presidents then this picture right here. I think it explains everything I feel about these two.

April Birthdays

Happy Birthday this month to Sarah today (the 2nd) Mike Stack the 5th, Josh Hart the 9th, Marshall the 11th, Terri the 15th and Garry on the 30th. Garry and Mike are turning the big 50! (How can you be over the hill when you never got to the top?) Any other birthday's please add to this list so I can update my list. Love and happy birthday to all, Grandma

April Fools

So I had a good April Fools yesterday. We stayed up late Monday and booby trapped some of our friends doors so that when they opened them they got a shower of dry beans. Ha ha, we got a few phone calls abotu that yesterday, so funny. Then When Mark was at school I did my dished adn cleaned my sink and filled it with a gross color of koolaid and when he got home he watched me drink the dish water. He said I had him going. When I drank it he goes "what in the world??!!!" I started laughing and told him what it was (that idea was from Rissy, thanks Ris, it worked perfectly) And then I had City of Joseph rehearsal last night too, so I made cotton ball cup cakes, yes, they had cotton balls inside fo them. But you could tell they were there so I had to frost them. Well I had about a dozen or so left and I ran out fo frosting. so I resorted to Mashed Potatoes. I saw a guy at rehearsal dash for a napkin and spit it out. There is a nice suprise for you. I didnt announce that I brought them or anything I just stuck them in the kitchen and with in 30 mins EVERY SINGLE ONE was gone, even teh mashed potato ones. I also saw several people who had bitten into teh cotton pulling stinkgs of it out fo their mouth. Very funny. :) I love April Fools.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

Happy Birthday!
I hope today is awesome for you! You deserve it!
