Which will pop first?

So this is a multi pourpose post. As you can see we have several balloon animals. That was one of Marks Christmas gifts, and he has been having a blast creating things. He has never done this before, and I think he is doing great. You can see his monkey on the palm trees...he dosent have any brown ballons yet so the truncks are a bit creative. In the picture iwth several items, on the top is a monkey, and a frog, then on the seat of teh couch the first pink one is an elephant, it's really cute, and then a sword, then 2 teady bears. I made the green one. Next time we come out to MO he will probably bring his balloons. He made a viking hat for our Neice and it had two long braids on either side. That was awesome!

As for me, I'm 34 weeks. I have 6 weeks left...ok 5 1/2, but who's counting? My last two week appointment is wednesday and then i'll go every week...so I guess I'll have an appointment every week starting this week till she is born. I'm just glad I live close to the hospital espically now that the roads are icey. I'll update my photo once more before Lydia is born and then be prepared to see a bunch of pictures of her. :)

Late pictures of christmas @ the Goldhardt's house

From OUR house to yours, Merry Late Christmas

Grandpa story

I'm, sure you all know that Grandpa is somewhat of a genius. His brain is always trying to figure out how something works and how he could make it work better. He is always "inventing" something. However, none of his inventions have ever made it big time. When our family consisted of Terri, Garry, and Keith, we lived in a basement house in Midvale. A sweet old gentelman lived across the street and gave us permission to use his garden spot and also to use his old shed that was next to the garden. At about this time there was a lot of talk about "flying cars" and Grandpa decided he would invent a flying car. He bought a air-plain engine and a used propeller and went to work in Brother Pate's shed. He used fiber glass to make the shell of the car and with the propeller on the bottom of the car to give it lift, he did invent a flying car. It never did get more than about 12 inches off of the ground and wouldn't go more than a few inches forward or backward. The neighbors complained about the noise and I complained about the money he kept sinking in to his flying car so he never made it to the inventors hall of faim. Poor Grandpa, no telling what he could have acomplished if he didn't have a wife who thought food and clothes were more important than inventions.

A snowstorm!

Last night we got 18 inches of snow! Some of our friends were over and it wasn't very cold outside so we went for a walk in the snow. Baby Garry loved it. He wouldn't let me tuck him into my coat because he wanted to put his face up to the sky to see the snow falling. (With his mouth wide open of course.) Then we sat him in the snow so he could have a little snack. He thought it was super neat. (But he was really tired so we didn't get any smiles out of him.) Big Garry was the photographer, that's why he isn't in the pictures.

Looks like a Compton, Acts like an Adams

Well this boy only has two teeth, but aparently they're booth a sweet tooth. I turn my back for two minutes and when I come back he's got 1/2 a chocolate bar in his mouth. As you can see for yourself. My first reaction......to laugh and take pictures.

I know this is the first major mess of many. He was covered, the floor was covered..... I'm suprised he didn't decided to smear it even more than it already was. Oh well. Thats my baby. He likes chocolate as much as any Adams.

Idaho Christmas

We had a very Idaho Christmas...cause we are in Idaho. You can't get any more Idaho than that I guess. :) These are our Christmas morning pictures before we left for Marks brothers house. Mark and I have been playing our instruments almost every day for a while, and we are learnign new songs. The picture of Mark playing is him playing Ghost Riders in the Sky. WE are also working on Battle of New Orleans, Grandmas Feather Bed, some new verses to Send Me to Glory in a Glad Bag, and our new favorite Old Joe Clark.
So I know the pictures of me still dosent look like I have a belly, but I'm wearing Marks shirt cause most of mine are tight. I'll post a nother pregnant picture this week so you can see what I really look like. My belly is growing fast, My last dr visit I gained 4 lbs and my tummy was 6 cm bigger from my previous visit 2 weeks before.

Christmas at Grandma's

Well, I hope that everyone has had a wonderful Christmas. As always, we have been having a party out here at Grandma's house all day long today. It seems that the party starts later and later every year though. But that doesn't matter too much, just being with family is what's really great about parties at Grandma's house. We couldn't get a whole lot of pix put onto the computer, but we will go ahead and post some of the better ones that we have. And we will try to get some more posted soonish. We really missed all of you that weren't here, and hope you all had a wonderful day!

I need stories.....

I would like everyone to submit to me in email form or to Sarah in an email any funny and/or odd stories about Grandpa. Grandma you are more than welcome to help out. Sarah and I figured that after the whole Ballet thing there has to be more stories out there. Include anything you want it doesn't matter if we've all heard it a thousand times we want them.

Story Time...

Well, I'm currious to see how many of you have heard of these stories that have been circulating about me. Those of you in my imediate family have heard the most, I'm sure. And if you talk to them much, I'm sure you have heard at least a little... Well, if you remember a few months ago or so, I went on a tripple date at Grandma's house out on the lake. I was warned later how "dangerous" those dates at Grandma's house can be. (I think Grandma has known all along that there is just something special about her house) But at any rate, this past week, I have spent time every day with Caty G...(oh yeah, forgot about the whole no full name thing). The name may ring a bell to some of you. Her and Shanell are like best friends. But I figured since my sibblings are having tons of fun "speculating" why not include the rest of the family?
Well, Caty is just really cool. She's a lot of fun to be arround and is always smiling. She's t he kind of person that when you meet her you just can't help but just want to spend time with because of how her personality just radiates. It just really stinks because I'm headed off for BYU in a week... But that's what phones and the internet are for, right?

*All questions/comments must be submitted in written form and will be answered at poster's, AKA Keith's, discression and in poster's own time. Thank you.

To Everyone (about Privacy)

Hey Marie, I'll definitely go take off the comment with everyone's address on it. That is a very wise idea. Just so everyone knows, our blog CAN be seen by anyone who goes on the internet, but we can't get comments from spammers like the one Marie posted. I've made the privacy such that the only people who can add comments have to already be members of our family site. (That is why it was important that everyone accept their invitation because they can't post messages or comments unless they are listed as a member of our family blog.) I COULD make it so you have to be a member of our family to read the blog at all, but I don't want to do that because there are family members who want to read the blog but don't want to create an account. You know? It's nice for friends of the family to read the blog also.

But you are smart about the addresses. I'm going to delete those right now, and read through and remove anything that crazy internet predators could use.

It's wise to only use first names when writing posts, and refrain from giving specific locations and contact information. You never know what psychos are out there. It's always best to send personal information like your address in an email rather than posting it on a blog.

This is a boring post, I know, but Marie brought up an excellent point and I wanted to let everyone know what privacy measures were in effect for our blog.

ps. If anyone didn't have the addresses but wanted them, I saved a copy of the list, so let me know and I'll email it to you.

Bad News

So I started a blog with my Chapman family and it did not take off near as well as this one. We only have about 36 blogs and we started it soon after this one. (Not as many people to contribute though it is mostly just the sibblings right now and I dont mean the russian ones.) Anyway I put this Post on that blog and notice the reply.

Grandma's twelve days of Christmas

He's getting bigger!

OK so I know this is no where near currant updates on Mikey, but I just had to show you how much he's grown up! Sorry this is just my mommy part of me kicking in. I had to show everyone my baby, when he was still a baby. He's almost to todler stage.

Yeah thats right, Mikey is crawling onto the furnature, and standing up. Yesterday he even decided it would be fun to let go for a few seconds. AAAAHHHHH!!! He says look out world I want to walk!

I kinda miss those days when he needed me all the time....wait...no he still thinks he needs me all the time. Not so cool. I went to the store the other day, as soon as I walk back in the door, "NA NA!!!!!" He couldn't believe I left him alone with Dad. I have to be in his sight at all times.

Well I asked for it, so I guess I'll have another small baby soon enough. Hats off to me.

What's With the Quote?

Ok, I'm not quite sure if this was a test to see how observant our family is or what. And I'm not quite sure how long it's been there, but I do find it quite humerous. I just figured I would ask everyone if they had noticed the wonderful Mark Twain quote at the top of our Blogg. And do you all find it as random and odd as I do? Random and odd as is, I do see the reason in it. I mean, who does listen to naked people? I sure don't.

Merry Christmas Charlie Brown!

I watched the Charlie Brown Christmas special on Sunday. Now every time I watch it I always think of when my Willis cousins did the play 2 years ago, and I think about Nancyann, Joseph, and Hyrum and how good they did and how funny they were. You guys left an everlasting impression on me. :)
Well Only 7 more weeks till Lydia is here, give or take. I don't know if I can strech for 7 more weeks. Last night she was moving so much I thought she was going to pop open my belly button. I know I don't look like I'm 7 months, people tell me all the time at church how small I look, and they can't believe I only have 2 months left. Sometimes I think maybe if I was bigger she would have a little more room, and she woudlnt keep me up so much. I have to remind myself that it's good when she kicks so hard it hurts, or that she is moving constantly and pushing and streching even though it hurts, cause she is only getting stronger...but I bet I could still beat her hands down in an arm wrestling match...which I guess isnt saying much. I don't even think she knows how to arm wrestle...that might be an unfair match.
okay yes I am a copy cat, but that was a fun quiz.
So here is our families. Good luck!

Dec. Family night

We had a fun family evening this afternoon. Nickle is home for a few days and Keith will be leaving after the first of the year so it was nice to have so many here. Of course Keith left about as soon as Nickle got here but thats OK, I got to see them both. We played the pipe chims and talked about Christmases past. I love it when you all come over for the evening. Lets face it, I'm crazy about all of you.

Recently I had a chance to go and watch a Yankee Doodle Christmas play put on by Hyrum's grade. This was one fun production. Espically since the star, Yankee Doodle, was non other than my amazing brother Hyrum.

In the play, Yankee Doodle had an extreemly bad toothach because he'd been eating too much Christmas Candy. And him and the townsfolk were all in a grinchy old mood and couldn't get into the Christmas spirit. By the end of the play though, Yankee doodle got his rotten tooth pulled (thats what he's sitting on in the picture on the top) and to help him get into the Christmas spirit he got a horse named Macaroni.

Congrats Hyrum you did amazing!

Poor, Poor Christine....

Nobody has posted anything new in a couple of days so I thought I would inform you of my painful life right now!! On Tuesday I went to the doctor and found out that I have shingles! For those of you who don't know what shingles is, I will give you a little lesson. Shingles comes from the virus you had from when you had the chickenpox, that virus is in you forever and someday shingles can just pop right up. Shingles comes from the root of your nerves, and it pops up in a patch and eventually can "shingle" around that whole nerve, all the way around your body. I just want you to know that this "virus" has been really painful, it feels like a pinched nerve with aching muscles and on the top of the skin it burns and is blistery plus it itches but you can't scratch it because it hurts to much! The worse part about it, there is really nothing you can do or take to make it better you just have to let it run it's course, which is about 2 weeks. So if we could all give me sympathy...... hope you all have a great weekend!

3 + 1 = 4

With Ashlee in the big 1st grade, we have been working on math at our home. Alissa will be due in July. *(I am pretty sure we won't be working on subtractions or division and multiplication would give me a heart attack!)

Adam's Family Reunion

Everyone needs to figure out when it would be a good time to have a family reunion this summer.
Because people like me:) has to turn in there vacation time at the end of this month. I was thinking the first week in July (because July 4th is a paid holiday, so one more day to play!! YEAH!!) but I am really open anytime except for Aug.

Winter Gayla

Last night we had really cool formal dance at the student branch. It was a lot of fun. We had a really nice dinner prepaired for us (which Grandma and Grandpa helped serve). Then the dance classes performed. That was a lot of fun. In the first number we did I danced with Sally Jones, it was an American Rumba number that we had worked up earlier this semister. Then the second piece we did was a Fox Trot and I danced with Caty Gainer. It was realy a ton of fun. Then after that, they served dessert and started the dance. We had a live band that played most of the time. It was really a ton of fun. I don't have very many pix on my camera (I'm pretty bad at remembering to take pictures when I'm just having fun). But I will get some from my friends and get them up here if I can. It was really just a lot of fun dancing arround like we always do, but in really REALLY good looking formals! It's just kind of sad that that was my last dance here in springfield for a while since I'm headed out to BYU in January. But what better way to go out than with a bang!

Snow Party!

Well, thanks to Sheri I am back on. We had a super fun "snow day" on Friday. I wish I could send ALL of the pictures but it would take from now until the next snow party for me to get them all loaded on my computer but here are a few. I think my favorite is the one of David not having as much fun as everyone else.:)

Christmas

Well this year i dont have any of my decorations so i have to improvise and i dont want to buy a ton of them either and just throw them away so i wrapped my door up like a present which josh hasn't seen yet lol:) he thought it was silly but i did it anyway and this is my pineapple tree except i'm getting a real one i just couldnt wait and this was just mocking me on the table:) so there you go a puerto rican christmas.

Christmas Decorations 101

For thoes who want to know how to make the penguins and sheep, it's fairly simple. The Penguins bodies are upside down wooden flower pots, (you can also use the clay pot style turned upside down) and the heads are little wooden balls. You can find both the pots and balls in several sized at any craft store in the wood section. Then come in little bags with several in them. So you paint the front 1/2 of each white, then draw teh out line for the black and paint the rest black and then glue the heads on, oh don't forget faces. The wings are black felt that are glues on the sides, and we did clored felt scarves too. And we glued a black string on the head so you can attach a hook to hang them on the tree. But I set up a little penguin village since I dont' have a tree, and it is just as cute.
The sheep are a little harder to explain. we took the yarn and wraped it several times around a pice of plastic that was 1 1/2 inches wide. Then we pulled it off keeping it wraped and tied a stringaround the middle so you have two sides of loops. And I foudn it was easiest to tie a loop with ribbon and slide it on the string when you tie it around the center. Then you cut all the loops on each side and you have a yarn puff ball. But it's kinda shaggy and uneven so give it a hair cut with sharp sissors till it's an even puff ball. Then cut out a little face from felt and hot glue it on, and put two small pipe cleaners through the center string that is holding it all together and bend them down to make four little legs. It's harder to explain than it is to make. You really can't mess the sheep up.
The wooden solders we made were out of old fashioned close pins if you can imagine that. black or white pants, red shirts with X's across the chest in the opposit color of the pants and little black puff balls on the heads for brittish hats. They are very cute too.
So for thoes of you looking for a Christmas craft, good luck adn have fun.
~Sarah

Christmas Ornaments

Sarah has some GREAT ideas for Christmas tree ornaments! Here are a picture of a couple we did together when she came down for Thanksgiving. We also did little soldiers, but we forgot to take a picture of them for the blog. The penguins are my favorite. This picture was taken before we put little scarves on them, so you'll just have to imagine how ridiculously cute they are with scarves.

It was so fun to have Sarah and Mark down here. Mark made me eat a goose. Seriously. A REAL GOOSE. They aren't like turkeys, let me tell you. Surprisingly, it wasn't bad. It tasted more like beef than poultry. It looked scary, but it tasted good.

Our tree is half up. Baby Garry has a burning desire to pull the lights down and eat them. Needless to say we discourage it. He's starting to understand though, and I'm excited about that. I'll look over and see him cautiously pulling a strand off the tree to eat. When I say "Garry, no, we don't eat lights", he smiles really big, drops them, and crawls away to play with something else. Unfortunately, his memory seems to be short, and in about five minutes he's back at the tree staring at the lights, reaching his little chubby hand up....... and we go through the same routine.
