Upsidedown and Backwards

Do you ever think you have to turn upsidedown and backwards to get a job done? Jayse was helping Grandpa help Ashley.

New quote to share

I just read another quote by Michael Jordan that I really like. He said, "Ive missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed."
All of us have more successes than failures but often we only count the failures. Not only of ourselves but of others. Have a wonderful week. I love you all, Grandma

Puerto Rico Fun

SWEET ACTION!!!

I have a job!

I just had an interview this morning to be a Teacher's Assistant this fall for Physical Science 100, and she said that I have a job! It was probably my easiest class that I had this semister and I got an A in it. She said that it starts out at $7.50 an hour, which isn't amazing, but it's better than nothing. And I will be working about 12 hours a week. Probably most of the time will be spent sitting in on the lectures so I can help answer student's questions and do things for the professor, which is fine by me. So now I don't have to worry about looking for a job next semister when I come out here, and I can do this probably until I graduate if I wanted to. After the first semister or two, she said there is a pay raise too, so that will be nice. I'm not sure how much it will be, but anything helps, right?
Anyway, this week has successfully drug on for ever. I took my last final on monday morning and havn't had much of anything going on since then. But I have to clean and pack everything up today because my flight home leaves tomorrow morning. I'm very excited to be back home and be arround all of my friends, and of course, to be arround Caty again. Anyway, that's what's up with me. :)

Oklahomo

Marie and I are at Jewel's house in Oklahomo, we are having lots of fun as you can see. We are mostly just relaxing, it takes us half the day just to get ready for the day. We almost broke the hammock but we fit everyone on it: David, Jewel, Jarvis, Marie, Taylor, me and Kenzie. Jewel says hello. She is trying to get on to the blog but we can't figure it out. (we will, i hope)

May I present ... The "Kitchen Sink"

Okay, so not usually a big deal, but for having lived without one for two months, It's a colossal deal at our house. Here's a picture of the new kitchen almost done (we still lack the new windows, trim around the window, kick plate at the base of the cabinets, base boards along the wall, heater vents, tile splash guards, and that would pretty much finish things off) (well, with the exception of a new door going out to the laundry room, but that will have to wait till some more money comes in -- any suggestions on how to make the "more money" thing happen?) Our plan was to do all this with a $1,800 budget, but as we pulled out the old cabinets and found that they were not repairable the project budget just went out the window. Uh, yeah, we are a little over budget, but very glad we went this route. And anyway, we're not anywhere near the national debt, ... yet ;( I'm hoping it doesn't get that high

Cool Website

I don't know how may of you know about this site, but it's realy cool. It's at http://pandora.com/ and what it is, is a site where you can listen to pretty much any music you want for free. It's really cool. It even has MoTab on it. Just thought I would let everyone know about it.

My New Toy

I got my new bow Yesterday. I'm excited to say the least. I tinkered with it and got all my accessories on last night and did a visual sight in (fixed it so that it shoots straight). It's been snowing so I haven't shot it very much except at the pro shop.

Lydia is still my favorite thing to play it but if she's sleeping I can always fall back on "ol betsy". Just kidding I haven't named my bow yet. I thought I would share with you all my new toy.

Happy Birthday to my wonderful daughter, Terri. I love you soooooooo much. (and so does everyone else)

Tribute to TOM

my brother thomas dale goldhardt might be the coolest person i've ever had the opportunity to talk to, hang out with, and to just be around. If it werent for my totally awesome brother I probably wouldn't even of graduated high school. Tom was my mentor and taught me a lot about life and helped get through school. Tom aslo introduced me to my husband. With out tom in my life I dont know where i would be right now. Probably workin at McDonalds or somethin.

THANKS TOM

She's got everything but the kitchen sink

I remember going on camp outs as a scout. There was always someone who brought everything imaginable in his back pack. He would have tons of snacks, pocket knives, hatchet, matches, lighter, fire starters, camp chair, cot, tent, etc... You know, the kind of guy who didn't know the meaning of "roughin it".
We used to say "He's got everything but the kitchen sink". Well, that's where we're at in our kitchen now. Keith and I made the counters this morning and installed them this afternoon before stake conference. They look very nice. Thought I'd post a couple of pictures so everyone else could see how things are going.

If April showers bring may flowers, what do April snows bring?

This morning you could only see the tops of the grass cause of how much snow there was. This is in front of our apartment with our little red camery.

Update to the update on the kitchen

Thanks for all of your compliments about our new kitchen. It is exciting to see it all coming together but it wouldn't have happened if not for the help of my favorite Super Hero "Kontractor Keith" He swooped in and effortlessly corrected all my Blatant mistakes in a single evening.

Actually, Keith did come by one evening while I was at work and took one look at my "Amateur" sheet rock work, took out a saw, cut a big square hole in the ceiling and patched it all back together. It looked much better when I got home. He couldn't fix all my mistakes, but he was able to minimize most of them. Tomorrow we are going to install the counter tops and bring the appliances back in (oh, it's after midnight, technically it's today that we are going to install the counter tops, but I've got to go to bed and get my nightly 5 hours of sleep first. Then I'll get up and do the Kitchen thing 8} (Kody, take note, you'll be doing a lot of those sleepless nights during med school ;)

Baby Garry Gets Stitches

Well, I just typed a whole page about our exciting day, but true to the form of this wretched day, the computer crashed and deleted everything I'd written.

So I will write the important stuff again really quick. Baby Garry fell down at 6, cracked his face open, got 5 stitches in his eyebrow, and a huge goose-egg on his forehead. It took three grown adults to hold him down while the doctor put the stitches in, and I'm sure the entire city of Cedar heard his screaming. It's 10:15 at night, we just got back from the Instacare, and everything is okay after all. We took some pictures to show you guys, but the goose-egg has gone down significantly and the stitches are covered up with a band-aid, so you don't get to see him in all his glory. Sorry.

He's our little protege. I was 19 years old before I got my first stitches, and Garry says he didn't get any until he was back from his mission. Our little boy is such an over-achiever. :) Not yet 15 months old and already 5 stitches. What a man. We gave him a cheese stick to ease his suffering when we got home. It's amazing how much easier it is to cope when you're at home with your own toys and you have a cheese stick.

FYI

I just thought I would let you all know that my amazing husband Kody got accepted to Drexel's Medical School. Gee I wonder what school I would prefer going to... Philly or Salt Lake??? ;)

A "Genuine" update on the Kitchen

Okay, so here are some real pictures of some real cabinets and the new kitchen floor. Wheh!!! Working till 1:30 am and then getting up at 6:30am to start all over again. This life style is for a much younger person than myself. I think I'm getting old or something.

We still have counter tops to install and new windows and a sink (plumbing and all). But it's coming together

You'll meet him someday...

Kansas City

Well...we're finaly moving. If all goes well, we'll be moved in by the 21st. But we're comming back on the 22nd to bless Alexander in our ward. Everyone is more than welcome to come. Sacrament meeting starts at 11:00am.

I'm excited for the move, but I'm already ready for it to be over with. Moving with 2 little munchkins is really hard. I can't really pack anything up until like the day before we move, cause I need it. We need our Dishes cause I still have to cook so we can eat. I can't pack up the boys clothes cause you never know whats going to happen with them... Yarg! But we're definatly excited.

Oh one more thing. I'm on a box hunt this week. If you have any good size boxes you'd like to get rid of, let me or my mom know...or if you have any moving tips. I think we're getting a UHaul, but we're not sure.

We love you all, and those of you who we won't be seeing as much, we're gonna miss ya!!!!

Happy Birthday Josh

Happy Birthday to Josh! and Happy Easter to all. This weekend we got to go home! you dont realize how great america is until you leave (all the small things) like chocolate doesnt taste the same you cant get good service and alot of little things. we came home for josh's cousins baptism and it was a wonderful experience, a very good service it was just family and was awesome. you can tell that little boy has such a testimony and is so mature for his age. Friday when we came home we went to grandma and grandpas for a bon fire only we turned into wimps in puerto rico and if you all thought it was cold here we thought it was freezing and were numb! so we grilled and ate inside:) marie came out to see us with her two kids and the are super cute! david had fun with josh and his licorice and i had fun with both him and taylor she is a doll to hold and super cute too! david sure doesn't like attention;) he is a ham and a half! then carolann came over with kenzie and she is super cute too she really liked the licorice that we had also:) as you can see in my picture:) david loves both the girls alot and like grandma said it was awesome to see a bunch of little families again with all these little kids running around and more coming i'm sure. thank you for coming to see us and those of you who didn't i understand it was easter weekend after all!:) and for those of you who were wondering our easter was spent on airplanes and 5 hours in an airport:) not exactly how i would have choosen it but was well worth it to see missouri! and of course family:)

2 1/2 months

Well we didnt get any Easter dress pictures of Lydia but we did take pictures on Easter. We went to Marks brothers In-Laws house for dinner yesterday. It was fun. Lydia was cranky cause she didnt take a nap before church, so she couldnt fall asleep while we were there. But she set a personal sleep record last night 6 1/2 hours! Horay!
We tried to get a smile picture casue she has a great big smile but as soon as we got the camera she stopped. I caught the after shock of one though in the 4th picture. She is a talker and a wiggler. She is CONSTANTLY wiggleing, it's cute, but it makes it hard to hold her and do much else.
