Early Birthday

My birthday is Wednesday but Mark has been saying for the last month or so that he knew what he was geting me for my birthday, and it was something I hadnt thought of before and I was going to LOVE it.Well He was right. He gave it to me today, he was going to wait but when he came home he saw that I needed it. He got me a rotary razor blade and a 2 sided cutting matt. HORAY! This may not mean much to a lot of you, but it makes cutting out patterns and fabric so much FASTER and way easier. I was just starting ot cut out the other costume I need to make for City of Joseph when he walked in. I think I did the whole thing, cutting and sewing and everything in about an hour and a half. THAT IS CRAZY FAST. Thank you Mark!

Wienermobile!

Today has been so much fun! Stacey came up from springfield to see us all, and she brought birthday presents for the boys. While she was here the wienermobile was at our local grocery store! The cool thing was they unveiled the new weinermobile that's a mini!!! They just unveiled it in New York two weeks ago on GMA. This was the first event that it had been to. It was so cool so we had to get our picture in front of the mini. We got to go into the origional and Mikey thought it was fun. He kept pointing and saying "CAR!" It was so cute! They even had free wenie whistles! Xander loved it.

Snowboarding

Jeff and Jayse went snowboarding on Monday after easter. Can you tell they had fun in the sun?

We had a Wilkins Family "camp out" at the lodge Friday night. I'm sad to say that someone brought up Easter dresses and Sydnie, Kelsie and Taylor all said "You used to make Easter dresses?" I guess I quit after 3 kids - sorry girls!

Video Games

Mark wasnt paying enought attention to Lydia, he was playing his video games. So Lydia climbed up on the couch and stradled his arm and leaned into his shoulder, he started laughing but kept playing. So she climbed all the way over and ploped her self on his lap. She has a way of getting what she wants.

Easter at the Goldhardts

We had a fun filled day, can you tell. Cody spent the afternoon making his chocolate filled easter eggs. Alissa had matching Easter outfits for her and her girls. Mike and Joseph had matching ties that she made. The kids all colored easter eggs. I also found out this was the first time Jayse ever colored easter eggs.

Spaz Easter

So for easter we went to a family in our ward's house. We had a ton of fun. We ate dinner and played games. Then after we had just finished Charades, no one knew what to do, so I introduced Spaz Uno to them. They LOVED it. It was so much fun to play with everyone. Mikey kept rolling around in the middle of the circle and someone made the comment that when we did Wild draw 4's it looked like we were doing some kind of accult activity. It was really funny. Xander kept crawling into the center and eating the cards...but it was his birthday so they just let him. We had a TON of fun.

3/24/08 Letter from Tom

how is it going family?? Well yesterday just felt like another day but the members we live with actually gave each of us an easter basket filled with tons of candy and gift certificates, man they over did it. It was kind of weird because i don't remember my mom ever doing anything like that for me on easter. jk jk love ya mom.

Well i'm getting transfered to Salem on wednesday. It's kind of sucked to say goodbye to all of our investigators and some of the members i've gotten close to. It was almost harder to say goodbye to them then it was to say goodbye to you guys. I'm not excited for all the rain i'll get up there in salem though, it's a lot more wet up there. It's just barely starting to get warm down here. Man it SUCKS packing, so this is my last p day here in grants pass, i guess i'll have to go out in style and dunk it on my companion.

Fold your arms

So Lydia is really good when it comes time for prayers. We say Lydia it's time for prayers, fold yoru arms, and sometimes we dont even get as far as the fold your arms part, and she is already folding her arms walking toward us.
Last night she was helping Daddy with the prayers. She was trying to say the same thing he was in the prayer. Then today after church she was trying to pray all by her self, I wanted to get a picture but she didnt do it long enough. She folded her arms and bowed her head and started to "pray" Then she paused took a few steps and squated, and continued to pray. Nothing fills my heart with as much joy as watching Lydia trying to pray. It was so fun.
And wish me luck, tonight I just put her to bed and I didnt give her pacifier to her. It's been about 10 mins and she is in there talking. If she is up for an hour I'll bring it to her. But She is content and tired, so we are gonna try it.

EASTER CAMPOUT 2008!

So, me and my Roommate decided to have an Easter Campout in our living room. This tent is seriously the BEST tent i have ever made...in my whole life. We even roasted marshmallows, dyed easter eggs, made pizza, had a dance party, and watched a movie. It was seriously sooo much fun!!!

Easter in Hilton Head S.C.

The Easter Bunny came to south carolina today but Matt didn't care very much about it. He is getting so big now and talks all the time he also smiles so much we are very lucky he is such a happy baby. you can also see how chubby he's starting to get in these pictures. the last picture is not from easter but from when we went to the light house on hilton head matt loves going outside so it is nice that we are in such good weather.

A little tiny dress

I need to sit down with the sewing industry and have a serious chat about what constitutes "EASY". It would appear as though we have two different definitions.

In all honesty, I don't believe they even HAVE a standard for "easy" patterns. They just pick a random four digit number, pull that pattern out, and slap the word "easy" on it. Then they go to the break room and have a good chuckle.

I sure hope they enjoyed themselves. Cause I for sure wasn't laughing as I made this baby dress. Not even a giggle. No sirree.

I tried the dress on Baby R~ right before I put the lace on the bottom hem and it was much too large. It definitely was too big around the waist, and it kind of flopped out in front, showing a little bit too much baby cleavage. I wasn't about to rip the whole thing apart and do all those ridiculous "finishing" touches again, so I pinched the seams all over and just sewed up them. This way when she gets bigger I can just rip out those new seams and it will be a big dress again. So to the point I was getting at: I didn't put the lace on the bottom after pinching in the seams. It would have looked silly when I took the seams out later. She can have lace when she's older.

A Walk in the Sunshine

Today was Baby R~'s first walk outside. She didn't walk herself, she just slept. :) She's gotten another horrible cold and the walking seemed to soothe her. Garry had today off from work (WOOHOO!) so we all went on a walk to Smith's. This double stroller sure looks cute, but it doesn't well turn at all with a 35 pound G~ sitting in the front. My favorite part of the walk was the downhill part.

Also: I liked Big G's hair and unshaven face in the first picture. He looks kind of like the mad hatter.

First Wind Farm in Utah!

Below are some pictures of the first wind farm going up in Utah. The company I work for is the one that initiated this project. We are hoping that by early next year we will have some of our designed towers up in Milford Utah that are even taller then these.

"NO"

Cute as she may be, this picture is decietfull. Yesterday Lydia learned how to say NO. And she says it quite good. I told her to be quite in sacrament and she told me NO. I told her to sit with me in RS and she told me no. No...no...no. At home she was getting into her diapers and I said Lydia no, she knows exactly what I meant. She grabbed the diaper, knowing full well she wasnt suppose to, and said in a very cute voice No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Oh and in the car on the way home, she was at the last stage of tiredness and was talking to keep her self awake, and guess what she was saying...NO. I know i"m in trouble, but it was actually pretty cute. She is going to be a sassy little thing...she already is.

Project #3

Don't you just hate it when family blogs turn into online project libraries for Sheri?

No no, the baby isn't the project. At least not the project I'm showing off right now. The baby is my ONGOING project. She's just my Vana White for this picture.

Today's project is the slipcover for the boppy! Made out of soft, furry, ridiculously expensive fabric. And get this: It has a ZIPPER! I, Sheri, installed a zipper. I did it poorly, and most likely incorrectly. (Thus it's on the underside of the boppy and you can't see it in the picture.) But I did it! And it zips! That's all that really matters, right?

A letter from Tom 3/17/08

My mom sends Tom's letter to just about everyone but as I was reading the letter today I thought I should probably post it for those of you who don't receive and it might make it easier on my mother, rather than sending it to everyone she can just post it here. Here is today's letter:

So there is only a week left in this transfer and i could either stay or go i don't know but if you send anything to me you should probably send it to the mission home and the address is 55 West 29th Ave. Ste A Eugene OR. 97405. Well this week hasn't been too good. We had our baptism for the 22nd fall through and i've been sick. Everyone here is sick and we shake soo many hands i knew it would happen sooner or later. I was doing ok until friday we had our district meeting and tract afterwards and when i went tracting i forgot to bring my umbrella and it started pouring, i got so drenched and was wet for the rest of the day. I'm getting better though. Slowly bu t surely We were in Cave Junction on thursday, it's pretty close to califronia and is the drugiest city in Oregon, man that town is crazy but we went into a store to get me some medicine and i asked one of the clerks if she could piont me towards the drug department and she just started laughing and laughing. Right when it came out of my mouth i knew i should have worded it differently. But she said you name the street and i'll show you which house hahaha it was pretty funny. Well not too much to write about. Hope all is going well oh yeah did you get my pictures i sent?

Project #2

Here I go again, domesticating. This is my second project with my new sewing machine: A quilt for Little G~. Note to self: Never try to sew anything with slippery stretchy fabric again. (One of you out there should have warned me before I even tried, but I forgive you.) I'd have to say that cutting the strips of fabric was the most difficult. The sewing itself wasn't nearly as irritating as the cutting. I bought some fabric to make Baby R~ and myself matching dresses next, but I might not have gotten enough. (And I have no clue what the patterns are talking about when they say things like, 'stay-stitch neck' and 'gather'.) We'll see how it goes.

More Dancing And Even More Dates

Well, I've had a rather busy week this past week. We had Dancesport yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Margaret and I competed in the triple swing. We have been practicing quite a bit lately. Every Monday after dance class, we go to the social dance lab for an hour to an hour and a half, and we usually go to Social Dance Club Tuesday nights for about an hour. Then, we of course, still have our normal dance class 3 times a week. Well, we competed yesterday morning at 8:00 in the morning. There were considerably less people competing in Triple Swing (which is what 280 Intermediate Social Dance competes) than there were last semester in the Cha Cha (which is what 180 does). So there were only 3 rounds in the morning. Our first round didn't go so well. We were kind of worried that we wouldn't make it to the next round. Well, we did. We were so excited! The next round went better, and we, once again, advanced to the next round. The 3rd and final round of the morning was our best yet. We felt so good after the 3rd round. When they finally posted the couples who made it to the next round, we weren't on there. We got cut the last round of the morning. It was sad. We both felt that the last one was our best. Margaret told me today that the couple who won the Triple Swing competition was a couple that is in 180! Ya, not cool. Oh well. Later last night we went back to Dancesport and watched the people who were dancing in the National Championships. MAN! They were soo good!!
We went on a double date today as well. We went with my same friend from Joplin Stake and his now fiancé . We made marshmallow guns and pulled some taffy. It was a lot of fun. Most of the other dates that Margaret and I go on aren't much to talk about. We go on quite a few walks around Provo, BYU Campus, the MTC, up to the Temple, just where ever. I really enjoy them but, like I said, there really isn't a whole lot to them that's fun for stories. I will say that as excited as I am to be back home and around everyone, I'm not really looking forward to the semester ending. But I sure am enjoying the time while I still have it!

More Dates

SNOW SNOW SNOW

I had rehearsal for City of Joseph today. We have it every saturday for 5 hours. Lydia usually does really well but today she was seriously lacking a nap. But even for not having a nap, still she was really good. But when we went to go home to our suprise there was 6 INCHES of snow on the ground and on our cars. Who invited the snow? Not me. I just hope there is no bad weather for teh preformances in April. Keith is driving up from Provo, and I want him to make it here.

March Birthdays

I am such a bad Grandma. I missed Conors birthday on March 3. Weston's was yesterday March 14, Grandpa's is tomorrow, March 16, Jeff on Mar 20 and James (Jim for the Missouri cousins who only remember him as "Jimmy") on the 21st.. Happy Birthday one and all. I love you even if I do forget to look at my reminder wall. :)

So I just had to do a little brag about myself... because I am proud:) The dress that you see above I made all by myself (without my mommy help).. and without a pattern... I know some of you out there would say oh that's nothing... but for me I was very amazed of myself.
Life for me is going great... I'm still commuting back and forth from salt lake to provo everyday... I'm starting to get sick of it (one day we had a huge blizzard and it took me four hours to get over the retarded mountain..) other than that, I cant complain;) Have a wonderful day!!!

Eggs! Hurry!

I was brushing out my hair this morning after a shower and Little G~ came in obviously needing something. "You want some eggs?" I asked. "YEAH!!! EGGS!" he replied, all excited. Suddenly it was a big rush to get some eggs. He kept ushering me into the kitchen, saying, "EGGS! HURRY! HURRY!" (Except that in G~ language it sounded more like, "EGGS! HUWWY!") Made me laugh. That is all.

It's a Miracle

Today I went out side with out a jacket on. IT was a little breezey, but totally do-able. I havetn been able to do that since...mid september.

Off to Iraq

Well everything is pretty much cut and dry now, I just got my travel itinerary. I leave Springfield at 7:25 Sunday morning. I spend the next 4 days training in Winchester VA and then I leave for Iraq at 10:47 pm on Thursday. There are still a lot of dontnos’ but I guess that will give me more to say later.
I opened a new e-mail so Janet and I could correspond, it is usacedad@yahoo.com use that one to send to me. I love you all and will miss the family activities, and all of you, but I am excited to get to serve.

Already Plotting

It looks like these boys are already figuring out what they want to get into at Grandpa's house. Taylor discovered the marshmallow drawer, and besides the whole unopened bag, she did find one stale marshmallow at the bottom of the drawer!

Tax Return!

We just got our tax return today and paid off our credit card and tuition! Horay for getting out fo debt!

Matthew is now 5 weeks old! he has grown so much and his personality is changing he smiles and talks to us all the time and he loves laying on his belly. he's usually a happy baby too.
